Five year old Grayson Walker is a walking miracle. In 2015, he was born at only 31 weeks gestation and was in NICU for nearly six weeks. Before leaving the hospital, Grayson’s parents, Michael and Shandi, were told he had a brain abnormality, and was later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

Grayson experiences seizures, has low weight and has femoral anteversion - a condition caused when the femur, or thigh bone, is positioned abnormally. This causes the lower limbs to rotate internally (the knees and feet to turn inward). Essentially, Grayson’s hips are at 90-degree angles, causing his feet to cross over each other when he attempts to walk.

On January 25, 2021, Grayson is scheduled to undergo a bilateral derotational femoral osteotomy to correct the positioning of his legs, at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. During surgery, his femur will be cut, rotated in and then fixed it in a more correct anatomical position using metal plates.

Michael and Shandi have been told the surgery has a 50% chance of being successful. Grayson will be unable to resume daily activities for at least three months, and complete recovery could take up to six months.

Because of the extensive care Grayson requires on a daily basis, neither of his parents are able to work full-time, and the financial burden of the up-coming surgery and aftercare is creating a stressful situation for the family. To help with the cost of surgery related expenses such as transportation to and from Dallas, accommodations and food, I am Making these shirts to help not only to show support for Grayson, but to help with Costs. All proceeds will go to Grayson's Family.
